Dear Friend,

February 4th, 2021 marks exactly one year until the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Despite our repeated calls and meetings, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has chosen to ignore the fact that their chosen host country is carrying out heinous crimes against humanity. Hosting the games in a country committing genocide, ethnic cleansing, and occupation is akin to endorsing these crimes. It is unfortunate that history is repeating what happened 82 years ago with the Nazi Olympics in 1936: hosting the Games in Berlin helped legitimize Hitler's genocide against the Jewish people and bolstered the Nazi regime.

With the IOC completely failing to take action despite clear evidence of genocide and widespread human rights failures, we are now calling on world governments to take a stand to uphold the values of democracy, freedom, and human rights.
SFT joined over 180 campaign organizations representing Tibetan, Uyghur, Hongkonger, Southern Mongolian, Taiwanese, and Chinese Democracy groups and allies to call for a boycott of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Games. Anything less than a boycott will be seen as an endorsement of the Chinese Communist Party's authoritarian rule and a blatant disregard for basic human rights. Our boycott campaign was recently reported in the BBC, you can read my quote and more about the campaign by clicking here.
There is mounting global outrage against the Chinese government for its crackdowns against freedom, democracy, and human rights. We will not stop speaking out and taking action until our voices are heard.
With Hope and Determination,
Dorjee Tseten
